Auto
Get 10% off auto insurance by attending a one-day, defensive driving course offered once a month by a certified instructor at your local union hall. (Minimum of 10 members required to hold a class.)
Fred Loya Insurance waives its initial down payment requirement of approximately $200. (There is a special agent assigned to SEIU Local 5 - FLI offices do not offer this discount.)
Goodyear Tires offers a 5% discount on tires, 10% off on service (on top of any sale price), and an $18.95 Oil, Lube, and Filter Service package. Coupons are available at your union office.
Entertainment
Spurs Tickets can be purchased at a discounted price for different seating levels. Tickets are available for purchase in advance. A schedule of discounted games is available at your union hall.
Fiesta Texas and Sea World passes are available at a discount throughout the open season.
Movie Tickets are offered at 21% off the regular ticket price. Tickets are accepted anytime at theaters and do not carry an expiration date. Tickets can be purchased at the reception area of your SEIU office.
Financial
Debit cards that can be used for direct deposit of payroll checks are available for free. These cards can be used at ATMs and any merchant that accepts credit cards. This is not a credit card and does not require a credit check or bank account.
SEIU Files Free is an online tax filing service available to SEIU members whose annual household income is less than $52,000. File your taxes at no cost and worry free. Contact your Member Benefits Hotline to set up an appointment at you local union hall.
Legal
Members get free initial legal consultation with an attorney, in person or on the phone, for up to 30 minutes. No enrollment charge or annual fee is required. Members are also eligible for discounted rates on most legal services.
Medical
Free and/or discounted drugs based on member’s family size and income level are available. Four hundred drug companies provide free and/or discounted drugs to SEIU members. This benefit is most appropriate for members treating chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma.
Notary
Free Notary Public services to any SEIU member are available at your local union hall. Please call the Benefits Hotline to set up an appointment.
